Sea-Doo Spark vs FishPro: Prices, Specs and Which to Buy

The Sea-Doo Spark and the FishPro are the cheapest and the dearest craft in this comparison. The Spark starts at $9,999 for the two-seater, weighs 196 kg dry and makes 60 hp. The FishPro Trophy starts at $32,699, weighs 407 kg and makes 170 hp. They are built for different jobs, not for the same buyer.

Sea-Doo Spark vs FishPro at a glance

The prices and specifications in the table below are Sea-Doo Australia's own published figures for the 2026 model year, checked on 8 August 2026. Starting prices are for the craft only and exclude on-water costs, dealer delivery and any options.

The spread is the story. From the cheapest Spark to the dearest FishPro is $22,700, or about 3.3 times the price. The Trophy also carries about 2.1 times the dry weight, 2.8 times the power and 2.3 times the fuel of the Spark for 2.

What the Sea-Doo Spark is built for

Light weight and low cost. At 196 kg dry the Sea-Doo Spark for 2 is the lightest model here that seats two as standard, which makes it easy to tow, launch and push around a garage on its own. It is also the only model in this comparison that starts under $10,000.

The trade-off is capability. Thirty litres of fuel and 60 hp make the Spark for 2 a craft for a few hours of close-in riding rather than a long day offshore. Storage tops out at 44.7 L including the optional front bin, which is enough for a lunch and a towel.

The Sea-Doo Spark for 2 and Spark for 3 both use a Polytec hull, run a 4.5 inch digital display, and carry a two-year BRP limited warranty. Stepping from the Spark for 2 to the Spark for 3 buys a third seat and 90 hp instead of 60, which takes the price to $15,199.

Where the Spark Trixx fits, and why it undercuts the Spark for 3

The Trixx is the trick-riding version, and it produces a genuinely counter-intuitive number in the range. The Spark Trixx for 3 is $14,699 against $15,199 for the standard Spark for 3, so the Trixx for 3 costs $500 less than the standard Spark for 3.

Sea-Doo Australia's Trixx model page lists the Trixx package as Extended Range VTS, step wedges and an adjustable riser handlebar, which together let a rider lift the nose, stand up and pivot the craft. The same page also lists a larger rear platform with LinQ attachment points on the Trixx for 3.

The Trixx for 1 is a different proposition again at $13,699 and 193 kg, which makes it the lightest of the six models compared here. It is a single-seater by default, which suits one rider who wants to muck about rather than a family that wants to tow a biscuit.

What the FishPro adds

A fishing platform, and the hull to carry it. Both FishPro models run the Rotax 1630 ACE at 170 hp with 70 L of fuel and 149.9 L of storage, which is more than triple the Spark for 2's storage and more than double its fuel.

The fishing equipment is what you are paying for. Both models carry 5 rod holders, a fish finder and GPS, a trolling mode for working a lure at low speed, gunwale footrests and a bench seat. The FishPro Sport also carries a large swim platform with LinQ attachment points, which is not listed as standard on the Trophy, meaning it does not appear in Sea-Doo Australia's published standard specification for that model.

The rod holders, fish finder, trolling mode and gunwale footrests are not listed as standard on the Spark or Spark Trixx model pages, and the FishPro carries them on a hull that weighs about twice as much. If fishing is the reason you want a craft, the Spark is not a cheaper way to get there.

FishPro Sport or FishPro Trophy?

The step from Sport to Trophy is $6,700, and what it buys is serious-angler equipment rather than more performance. Both share the same 170 hp engine, the same 70 L fuel capacity and the same published 149.9 L storage total, though the Trophy's figure includes its 51 L LinQ cooler.

"Not listed as standard" means the feature does not appear in Sea-Doo Australia's published standard specification for that model as at 8 August 2026. It does not mean the feature is excluded or unavailable as an accessory. Confirm the final specification with a dealer before you buy.

Of those differences, the livewell is the one most likely to change how you fish. A 51 L cooler with an integrated pump keeps bait alive and a catch fresh, which matters if you fish all day and does nothing at all if you fish for two hours on a Sunday.

The FishPro Scout is not sold in Australia

Australian buyers researching the FishPro will find the Scout in overseas coverage and on international pages. It is not in the Australian range. Sea-Doo Australia's sport fishing index lists two models, the FishPro Sport and the FishPro Trophy, and the Scout's Australian model page returns a 404.

So the real Australian choice is three-way: a Spark, a FishPro Sport or a FishPro Trophy. Anything you read comparing a Scout against a Spark is written for another market.

What it costs to run either one

In NSW, registration and licence fees do not vary with the model you buy. A personal watercraft costs $512 for 12 months of registration whether it is a $9,999 Spark or a $32,699 Trophy, a one-year PWC licence is $260, and the PWC knowledge test is $22. Those fees are effective 1 July 2026, and other states set their own.

That flat structure changes the maths at the cheap end. On a Spark for 2, the first year of registration and licensing adds $794 to a $9,999 purchase, which is roughly 8% on top. On a FishPro Trophy the same $794 is about 2.4%.

Fuel is one running cost that does scale with the craft. The FishPro carries 70 L against the Spark for 2's 30 L, so a full tank costs more than twice as much at the same pump price. The NSW Government states that third party insurance is not compulsory to register a vessel, and if you are financing, ask your lender what cover it requires.

Which one should you buy?

Buy a Sea-Doo Spark if the craft is for messing about within sight of the ramp, if you tow with a small car, or if the budget is what decides it. Buy the Trixx version if the rider actually wants to do tricks, and take the Trixx for 3 over the Spark for 3 while it is the cheaper of the two.

Buy a FishPro if you fish. The rod holders, trolling mode and fish finder are the point, and the Sport at $25,999 covers most of it. Step up to the Trophy at $32,699 only if the livewell and the swivel seat will get used.
